TWIN LIONS CORNERSTONE EXCAVATION

DISCOVERY

In 5486 Lapsumatera, the site was stumbled upon by a small child in the act of pursuing her bouncing ball.

This repetitive act of flinging out and retrieving a toy, documented by Sigmund Freud as the "fort da" principle, is a self-induced exercise to facilitate a child's adjustment to the daily disappearance and reappearance of his parents. Since children are often urged to play such games outdoors, it often leads to them plummeting into openings in the ground and discovering prehistoric sites with Paleolithic cave paintings.
